There are several options available to buy Electroneum. In this article, I’ll discuss the options.
Buy From an Exchange
The safest way to buy Electroneum is through an exchange. Exchanges bring together buyers and sellers of ETN and act as an intermediary between the two. They charge a small fee for their service (typically 0.1-0.2% of the total purchase amount).
Exchanges that currently list Electroneum are:
Exchange | Fees | Tutorial | Comments
1 | TraderONE | 0.10% | Recommended.
2 | KuCoin | 0.10% | How to buy | Recommended. |
3 | CoinBene | 0.10% | Recommended.
4 | OEX | 0.20% | Recommended.
5 | Liquid | 0.15% | Recommended. EUR, Formerly Qryptos.
6 | SistemKoin | – | Turkish exchange. – USD, TL, BTC
7 | CoinSpot | 0.90% | – | Accepts Australian AUD. |
8 | TradeOgre | 0.20% | – | Not regulated |
9 | CryptoHub | 0.10% | – | |
10 | Huobi | 0.10% | – | |
11 | Altex | 0.1% | – | |
12 | Cryptonit | 0.25% | – | New exchange. Paypal & Credit card. |
13 | LetsDoCoinz | 0.1% | – | New exchange. |
14 | Bitbns | 0.25% | Accepts Indian Rupee. |
Keep in mind that most of these exchanges are cryptocurrency exchanges, meaning that you will need some other cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or Ethereum to buy Electroneum – they don’t accept fiat currencies such as USD or GBP. However, you should be able to buy Bitcoin easily at any of the large exchanges that accept fiat currency, such as Coinbase, CEX.io, Bittrex, or LocalBitcoins.
Following is a list of exchanges that have shown interest in listing ETN, or to which the team plans to apply for listing:
- Next.Exchange (listed, but currently in beta testing phase)
There are currently no exact dates for when Electroneum will be listed on these exchanges.
Buy From an ETN Holder in Person
The second method is to meet an Electroneum holder in person and buy directly from them with cash.
Using the app wallet, users are able to send ETN payments to other users of the app. Therefore, it is possible to buy ETN privately from a willing seller and have them transfer the ETN to your mobile wallet.
But be careful with this option. Scammers abound in the cryptocurrency industry! Don’t do anything you would not have done if you were buying a valuable item – such as a diamond ring or car.
I recommend asking on Twitter or Facebook for someone in your area. Meet that person in a communal location such as a mall or coffee shop. Pay them cash (or do a bank transfer while talking to them) and make sure you watch them transfer the ETN to your wallet.
In The Future?
Both these methods seem cumbersome and also quite risky. And they rightfully are! Scammers will seize any opportunity to capitalize on unsuspecting buyers.
However, Electroneum is set to become one of the largest cryptocurrencies in the world by allowing anyone to mine coins with their smartphone. It has all the ingredients to go viral and achieve mass adoption.
Therefore, it will only be a matter of time until safer, more trusted methods see the light. If you feel the need to play it safe, wait until a safer method appears, and in the meanwhile make sure you are set up to mine coins every day!
Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to mine Electroneum on a computer. I’ve already opened my wallet on a computer and not on my mobile and would like to do the mining.
Here’s a guide that will show you how.
Can I buy ETN through IQ Option?
Not yet. IQ Option does not support ETN yet. We’ll need to wait for them to list it.
Buy nor sell !!
I have bought Bitcoin through my Luno account but how do I transfer it to ETN?
Currently, Electroneum is listed only on Cryptopia. So you’ll need to transfer your Bitcoins to Cryptopia and purchase Electroneum from there. Here’s an article I wrote that explains the process.
Hi, I want to buy Electroneum and just sit on it for a year. How do I go about it? Thanks.
Here’s an article I wrote on how to buy Electroneum on Cryptopia using Bitcoin or some other cryptocurrency.
Hey, I have a couple of quick questions:
1) Can MyEtherWallet store Electroneum?
2) To buy ETN, it says that I can use BTC (but not ETH?). I have an account on Binance. So, I assume that I’ll have to trade ETH/BTC and then transfer it to Cryptopia and then buy ETN, correct?
Sorry, I’m a noob in all this so I just want to be well informed before I start the process.
Thanks & cheers!
No problem. Glad to help…
1. No, MyEtherWallet cannot store Electroneum. It can only store Ethereum-based coins, which ETN is not.
2. Yes, Cryptopia does not have a direct ETH/ETN option. The way you mentioned it would work great. Sending to Cryptopia in ETH will also save you a lot in fees.
Would love to get some ETN, but unfortunately trading on Cryptopia has been “paused” for days now.
Yeah, Cryptopia has basically gone from 500k registered users to 1.5 million in the past 5 weeks, so they’re really struggling to keep up with server power and support staff. They’re busy moving to bigger servers at the moment. Let’s hope they can get on top of this soon.
Hello. I really want to buy some tokens. When will the next sale be?
The ICO is over and there won’t be another one. But ETN is currently trading on Cryptopia where you can buy it anytime you like!
I can’t find the app for iPhone. Help?
The iPhone app has been developed but is still being reviewed by Apple. It should become available soon.
Hello, this is my first foray into crypto so I’m a complete newbie. I have opened my account on Electroneum and purchased during the token sale, I’ve downloaded the app and created two paper wallets so for a 71 yearold wrinkly I’ve done quite well. Not now but when the online and mobile wallets are active will you kindly explain how I will be able to move my Electroneum into my paper wallets.
Best regards
Graham
For a 71-year old you are doing exceptionally well! I will definitely create an article once I know how it will work! Thanks for your great comment!
